Georg Chmiel

Chief Operating Officer

Georg was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LJ Hooker in 2010. As COO, Georg is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business and turning the corporate strategy into action to facilitate the company’s growth plans.
 
Prior to LJ Hooker, Georg held the position of Chief Financial Officer and General Manager International at REA Group Ltd (ASX: REA) for almost six years. Georg was instrumental in building a solid platform for expansion which allowed the group to grow exponentially. During his time at REA the business grew from a market cap of $100 million to $1.6 billion. With companies such as Deutsche Bank and McKinsey & Company, Georg has built his expertise in the area of company valuations, accounting migration and process redesign.
 
Georg is also the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of iProperty Group (ASX: IPP) the leading online advertising group for real estate in South East Asia.
 
Georg holds a MBA from INSEAD France, a Computer Science Degree from Technische Universitaet, Munich and is a CPA (USA).
 
Georg is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
